The Bariatric EvacMat answers a question more care providers face every year: how do you evacuate a plus size or bariatric resident safely, and with dignity, when the lift cannot be used? Designed for care homes and hospital wards, the mat cocoons the person and holds their body weight in place, overcoming the stabilisation problems that make moving a larger person on an ordinary mat unstable.
The EvacMat works for both horizontal and vertical evacuation. Multiple ladder handles and positioning handles let the team adopt good working posture and reduce their own risk of injury, and anchor points take ropes for controlled descents on difficult stairs. Colour coded cross straps with seat belt style metal buckles make fastening quick under pressure. The strong, slippery base moves over indoor and outdoor surfaces, and a foot pocket, internal pillow and integral carry bag complete the package.
