The practice of asking staff to roleplay a person requiring evacuation on an evacuation aid is inherently dangerous. The courts have stated “inherently dangerous” involves risks of harm to others which may be reduced by taking proper and reasonable safety precautions.

Train your staff to avoid back injuries associated with unsafe, high-risk moves when handling patients and aids with compliance with Chapter 4 Part 2 Manual Handling of Loads ‘General Application Regulations 2007 (Safety Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005)’.

Rugged, realistic in size, weight distribution and handling characteristics. Upgraded to a polyester fabric shell material. Manufactured using a flexible inner core and an outer shell. The Patient Handling Manikins totally eliminate the risk of the pinching associated with the joints of the plastic-bodied manikins. The inner core is weighted to human proportions using 4.4 lb packets of aggregate. For structural integrity, the packets are sewn to a nylon inner dummy with all the body parts (arms, legs, chest, etc.) held in place with polypropylene webbing.

The Patient Handling Manikin is ideal for Health & Safety and Fire Safety training scenarios within Hospitals, Nursing Homes and the Care Sector. Moving and handling exercises including early mobilisation, emergency evacuation and working with lifting/transfer/ evacuation equipment.

The Patient Handling Manikin is now recognised as an essential piece of equipment to help in preparing staff for an emergency evacuation within a Nursing Home or Hospital and the Disability Sector.
