Realistic in size and weight, combined with a face and hair, this manikin is eerily close to a real body in an underwater environment. A pre-established protocol is essential for victim retrieval—the body recovery manikin was predominantly designed to aid Police dive teams in recovering bodies from any inland waters or under ice.

The manikin is a versatile variant of the renowned Water Rescue manikin. It adapts to different scenarios by sinking instead of floating. By precisely balancing the buoyancy against the ballast, the manikin weighs 50kg on land but only 10kg underwater. The body recovery models are visible to sonar devices.

Features & Benefits

  • Anatomically correct weight distribution allows for realistic body ‘bagging’ as part of training exercises.
  • The body recovery models are visible to sonar devices.
  • This manikin will easily withstand 5 to 6 metres fall into the water with no damage – they are tough!
  • Constructed using a H/D reinforced Nylon mesh for the carcass and non-absorbent closed-cell foam for buoyancy, the mesh allows water to flood into the body, allowing it to sink and flow out as it is recovered.
  • Mesh allows for ventilation when the manikin is hung up to dry.
  • A polypropylene loop on the back of the carcass enables the manikin to be lowered into position or hung up to dry.
  • Adding a realistic face and a wig enables easier/quicker identification of the body in poor visibility when the search is by touch only.
  • Polyethene strips running from the shoulders to the knees allow flexibility but prevent the manikin from bending in half when using stretchers or recovery devices.
  • Replaceable coveralls and boots are easily replaceable and significantly extend the life of the manikin.
