The TabEva is made from strong, cotton drill material, it has foam padded shoulders, colour coded binding and side ties. It comes with either a large single pocket pouch on the front or twin pouch pocket. There are three further pockets on the front and a cylinder pocket on the back.
The SCBU TabEvac is designed for the easy and safe evacuation of premature and newborn babies from hospital and special care baby units (SCBU) in the event of a fire or another emergency.
Using the Tabevac
- Place over the head with pouch(es) at front
- Securely fasten ties at both sides
- If using oxygen, place cylinder in the back pocket and direct line through the loop on the right shoulder
- Place one baby in the pouch (one in each of twin pouches)
- Leave the building
Since the changes to the Fire Services Act 1981 in 2003, the Fire Service is no longer obliged to provide a “complete evacuation service” for premises, thus placing the onus upon the business owner.
