Has an abdominal belt
There is an extra abdominal belt on this bariatric version, compared to the standard model of the S-CAPEPOD. Due to the patient’s larger size, you want to ensure that the patient is fixed to the bed mattress as tight as possible. This prevents the patient from sliding down the mattress during a horizontal evacuation.
Anti-bacterial and fire-retardant materials
The S-CAPEPOD is treated with sanitised Th27-24. This Swiss technology is an anti-bacterial treatment which provides excellent protection to well-known hospital bacteria.
But that’s not all. The fabric is also fire-retardant. And this is not just a coating that will vanish after washing. In fact, the protective mechanism is inherent in the fibre.
